[Ikaria: Living Simply is the Best Revenge! aka...Eat Greek. Live Well.]

Chef, author, and mom Diane Kochilas discusses life lessons from Ikaria, the “Blue Zone” island of longevity, where her family is from. From her experiences over 40 years in a small mountain village on Ikaria, she draws on what all Greeks have in their national DNA and what they can and should be showing and sharing with the rest of the West, especially in the face of so much financial duress everywhere: the dignity and power of living very well and very simply. She talks about the potential of Greek cuisine, innately healthy and delicious, a marriage of both nutrition and indulgence, as a tool that can be used to renew Greece’s place in the global community, as the antidote, corroborated by science, that could stave off so many of the diet- and age-related diseases facing the West. Kochilas is an enthusiastic rabble rouser and communicator of Greek culture, especially as seen through its timeless, timely cuisine. Watch her talk and be inspired to eat like a Greek and live well.
