TEDxAthens Salon 2013
Σε συνέχεια της περσινής διοργάνωσης, το TEDxAthens διοργανώνει για δεύτερη συνεχόμενη χρονιά το TEDxAthens Salon την Τρίτη 2 Ιουλίου 2013 στο The Hub Events με τίτλο “Startups Beyond Borders”. Επιχειρηματίες, έμπειροι επαγγελματίες και εκπρόσωποι επενδυτικών φορέων θα μοιραστούν μαζί μας τις ιδέες τους για την ανάπτυξη νέων τεχνολογικών εταιρειών και θα μας μυήσουν στις πιο πρόσφατες παγκόσμιες τάσεις στον κλάδο της τεχνολογίας.
Θα προσπαθήσουν, ο καθένας με τον τρόπο του, να μας μεταφέρουν «εκτός συνόρων» παρουσιάζοντας μας επιτυχημένες πρακτικές από τη διεθνή τους εμπειρία, δίνοντας ταυτόχρονα, πρακτικές συμβουλές για επιχειρηματικότητα και επενδυτικές ευκαιρίες-προοπτικές στην Ελλάδα και στον υπόλοιπο κόσμο.
1. Guy Krief, SVP of Product & Innovation and co-founder of Persado
Guy is SVP of Product & Innovation and co-founder of Persado, where he oversees product management, algorithmic research, and software development for Persado. Guy previously was VP of Innovation for Upstream, where he led the incubation and implementation of the innovative mobile marketing campaigns for global mobile operator and brand clients. Guy’s has followed a diverse career path, which has seen him write and star in his own TV comedy series and host his own radio show. He was also previously a marketing manager for Wanadoo (France Telecom) in Paris, which became Orange. Guy holds a Masters in Social Psychology from the Sorbonne in Paris.
2. Itxaso del Palacio, Investment Analyst at EC1
Itxaso del Palacio is an academic and an investor. She is an Investment Analyst at EC1 Capital where she is responsible for building a quality deal flow. She is also helping some of the companies in the portfolio. As an academic, Itxaso is a Teaching Fellow in Entrepreneurship at UCL in London. She teaches at the MSc Technology Entrepreneurship and helps students building their companies. In the past, Itxaso was based in Silicon Valley and helped Spanish entrepreneurs setting up in the Bay Area. She has a background in Engineering and she holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship.
3. David Bizer, Talent Geek, HackFwd
David Bizer is a Partner with Talent Fountain and HackFwd’s Chief Talent Geek. He’s creating a new business model for recruiting with Talent Fountain along with ensuring HackFwd invests in only the most talented technical founders in addition to growing the companies within the HackFwd portfolio. David is a pioneer in global internet recruiting with a unique bi-continental background discovering talent from Silicon Valley to the technology hubs of Europe. Over the past 15 years, David has recruited and led recruitment efforts resulting in the hiring of more than 4000 top-caliber candidates across more than 25 countries.
David started his career in staffing at Netscape which was at the time, perhaps the most exciting internet company on the planet. Having learned with the best at Netscape, David then joined Trilogy to lead their European Recruitment efforts, sourcing high caliber Computer Science graduates from top universities in Western Europe. In 2003, David was named the first European recruiter at Google. He hired over 300 candidates in his first 18 months. He then led Google’s staffing efforts across Europe for 20+ sales offices and all technical graduate recruitment. David holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Colorado, Boulder and has served as President of AIESEC United States.
4.Cem cem_sertoglu, Partner of Earlybird Capital
More than seven years experience as an Investor; focus web-enabled services and consumer internet. Previously Partner at iLab Ventures, Co-Founder and CEO at Mondus.com, Founder & CEO at SelectMinds, Vice President at Farmer & Company.
Pioneering the technology investment sector in Turkey since its inception with his personal investment vehicle Young Turk Ventures, investments include Gittigidiyor.com (Turkey’s leading online auctions portal) and Grupanya (Turkey’s leading daily deal website). BA in Economics, University of Texas (Austin).
5.Robin Wauters, European Editor of The Next Web
He is currently the European Editor of leading global technology news site The Next Web and formerly a senior editor at TechCrunch (acquired by AOL in 2010) and managing editor of Virtualization.com. A seasoned technology journalist and commentator, he’s also an entrepreneur, event organizer, speaker, moderator, occasional startup advisor and angel investor but most importantly a champion of startups and the European startup ecosystem in particular.
After working as Internet marketing manager for technology company Hostbasket (acquired by Telenet) and later as online media manager for leading Belgian ICT publisher Datanews / VNUnet (acquired by Roularta), he co-founded social media agency Talking Heads in 2009 (the company became part of Web design and development agency Netlash in 2010). He occassionally serve as a startup advisory board member – more specifically, I’m currently a minor shareholder in startups such as Checkthis, Maily, Showpad, Argus Labs (Jini), Wondergraphs and Oxynade. In addition, he’s mentored a wide range of European startups through the internationally acclaimed Founder Institute and Seedcamp – both early-stage business accelerators. Based in Brussels, Belgium, he’s a patron of the BetaGroup Coworking Space and previously organized events, such as the Plugg conference and the monthly OpenCoffee Club Brussels meetups.
6.Gary Shainberg, Technology Entrepreneur
Gary recently completed an interim post as CIO for a Swiss Digital Security company but is now using his extensive skills and network to build his own venture as a specialist consultant offering a Fractional CIO service to companies who need a CIO but not full time of can not afford one full time. He is also offering a low cost Technology & Innovation service aimed at startup’s and SME businesses who need to change & Innovate to stay competitive but because of size, may not have the skills in house to facilitate these changes.
Previous to this he had a very successful career in BT leaving in March 2011 as Vice President of Global Technology & Innovation Support in BT’s Group CTO Office responsible for ensuring BT’s Innovation and Technology programmes deliver (radical) solutions to business problems – which in turn drives improved business performance. Gary has been involved in the design, development and selling of many technology based products and services. He is passionate about the future of technology and applied innovation and strives to help others leverage this for their own growth and future.
Gary has over 25 years experience in the Global Networked Economy covering a wide range of national and international assignments. During his time at BT Gary played a major role on its relationship as strategic partners with the World Economic Forum taking the lead on the Technology Pioneers Programme and the WELCOM project along with many other WEF global initiatives.
